An accomplished psychiatrist with more than three decades of experience, Thomas Gazda, MD, currently treats patients at his private practice in Scottsdale, Arizona. Throughout his career, Dr. Thomas Gazda has held memberships in several professional organizations, including the American Psychiatric Association (APA).

Recently, the APA held its 167th Annual Meeting at the Javits Convention Center in New York City. The five-day event featured a number of distinguished speakers, including actor Alan Alda, APA President Jeffrey Lieberman, and U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, who delivered the William C. Menninger Memorial Convocation Lecture.

The meeting also included a comprehensive scientific program featuring a range of innovative sessions and continuing education courses designed to expand attendees’ understanding of new therapies and treatment options. In addition, meeting attendees were able to discover new technologies at the event’s exhibit hall, explore employment options at a career fair, and show off their psychiatric knowledge in the “Mind Games” competition, based on TV’s “Jeopardy.”
