About Thomas Gazda

Dr. Thomas Gazda applies his extensive background in clinical psychiatry, psychotherapy and psychopharmacology to treat patients at various hospitals and clinics in the Phoenix area. Since earning his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1979, Dr. Gazda has run private practice endeavors and important hospital committees, earned numerous accolades for professional excellence, and actively participated in many professional societies.

During his career, Dr. Thomas Gazda has completed residencies in family practice and psychiatry with the University of Vermont College of Medicine and Medical Center Hospital Vermont and has served on staff with Holly Hill Charter Behavioral Health System in Raleigh, North Carolina. He currently holds a variety of clinical, consultancy, and teaching positions. In addition to teaching psychiatry residents at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, he also offers operational advice as Chairman of the Behavioral Health Clinical Consensus Committee, works as a psychiatry consultation liaison physician at Banner Desert Medical Center. He consults to the Family Services Agency, the oldest community mental health service in Phoenix, and to Southwest Behavioral Health in Payson, Arizona. He also works as a private principal investigator and psychoanalytic psychotherapist. Additionally, Dr. Gazda serves as a thought leader to multinational pharmaceutical firms Pfizer, Inc., Abbott Laboratories, AstraZeneca plc, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Shire, Sunovon, J&J, and others.

The recipient of a number of peer review awards, Dr. Thomas Gazda was named a 2007 Top Doctor by PHOENIX Magazine, listed as a 2012 Super Doc by Arizona Magazine, and added to Who’s Who lists by biographical profilers Kiplinger and Biltmore.
